Moving home is the third most stressful life event, behind death and divorce. And yet, with something so stressful, many people don’t take it as seriously as they should. We’ve put together this short article of three things to think about when it comes to hiring furniture movers for your big move.
Three things to remember when hiring furniture movers:
1. Be happy with your decision
If you’re unsure about a moving company, then don’t hire them- it’s as simple as that. Once you’re happy with a company, and you make the decision, stick with it. Be confident in your choice and in the company. Constantly worrying if they are the right people for the job will only make you stress during the move, and this is the reason why you hired them in the first place; to take the stress out of it.
2. Talk to the people first
All good moving companies will be more than happy to come round and provide a free quote. While they’re there, have a chat with them. Make a cup of tea and ask questions about the company, and about them. This way you can get a feel for their professionalism and work ethic. Once your happy with them as people, then number one takes care of itself.
3. Price is NOT the most important factor
Never go with the cheapest when it comes to moving companies.
Ask yourself why they’re cheap… are they unreliable? Using older trucks and equipment? Inexperienced? If they’re cheap to hire, then they’re probably not paying their staff very much. Underpaid staff don’t care as much; for your valuables or your time.
So follow these three rules to get off to good start when it comes to researching and choosing furniture movers.
